Netflix Opens First Permanent Theme Park 'Netflix House' in US
Netflix House: Streaming Giant's First Theme Park Opens

Streaming giant Netflix has officially entered the theme park industry with the launch of its first permanent entertainment venue called Netflix House. This strategic expansion marks the company's direct competition with established entertainment giants Disney and Universal Studios.

From Pop-ups to Permanent Location

After several years of operating temporary pop-up experiences, Netflix has made the significant decision to establish permanent physical locations. The first Netflix House opened its doors on Wednesday at the King of Prussia mall in Pennsylvania, one of the largest shopping centers in the United States.

The massive entertainment space covers over 100,000 square feet (10,000 square meters) and features free admission for all visitors. Netflix Chief Marketing Officer Marian Lee explained the company's reasoning behind this approach, stating they wanted to ensure accessibility and become an everyday destination for fans.

Immersive Entertainment Experience

Netflix House promises to deliver an immersive experience centered around the platform's most popular shows and movies. Visitors can explore themed areas and activities based on hit series including Bridgerton, Stranger Things, Squid Game, and KPop Demon Hunters.

The venue will host a wide range of dining options and interactive activities, all carefully designed to recreate the atmosphere and settings from these beloved streaming titles. This approach allows fans to step directly into the worlds of their favorite Netflix productions.

Expansion Plans and Strategic Vision

Netflix has already outlined an ambitious expansion strategy for Netflix House locations. Following the Pennsylvania debut, a second location is scheduled to open in Dallas, Texas on December 11, with a third venue planned for the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada by 2027.

Lee noted that each location will have unique programming tailored to its environment. The Las Vegas venue, situated directly on the Strip rather than inside a shopping center, will feature different programming approaches to match its distinctive location.

While the company has not disclosed specific construction costs, Lee acknowledged that Netflix House represents a significant capital investment for the company, covering both space acquisition and the elaborate fabrication of themed environments.

Currently, Netflix has no immediate plans for international Netflix House locations, though the company remains open to considering global expansion in the future with adapted approaches for different markets.
